Cider Hill Woodworks has been reproducing the beautiful stylized eagles of John Haley Bellamy, a carver in the Kittery-Portsmouth area in the late 19th century.

We have studied the carving strokes and designs from the simple 24", white, "Don't give up the ship" eagles to the much larger, ornate, gold leafed eagles with banners and draped flags. We can faithfully reproduce any eagle design you may have or would like to have.

Some of our clients have owned genuine Bellamy eagles in the past, but for one reason or another have been separated from them and have had us carve replacements. Others have sold the originals to benefit from the exponential value increases and had us make a copy to fill the space - a win, win situation.

Still others have wanted a Bellamy eagle but due to the high costs or limited availability of an original have commissioned us to create one to fit their needs and have the look and style of the original at only a fraction of the price.

There are many people making reproductions, but very few of them have captured the grace, style and nuances of John Bellamy's original carvings.
